This piece was originally a self-portrait that I painted for a Painting I assignment my freshman year of college at Maryland Institute, College of Art. It was spring of 2000, essentially the beginning of my “adult” life. I remember it was my earliest studio course of the week and the freezing cold mornings in the beginning.
